Aviation Cooperation Program

Hanoi, Vietnam – The U.S. Trade and Development Agency today joined the U.S. Departments of Transportation (DOT) and Commerce, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and U.S. industry to launch the U.S.-Southeast Asia Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP). The program is a public-private partnership with aviation stakeholders in Southeast Asia to promote technical, policy and commercial cooperation in civil aviation.

“We are launching ACP at an ideal time that aligns with Southeast Asia’s dynamic aviation growth and the importance of this region to the future of global aviation,” said USTDA’s Acting Director Thomas Hardy.

Aviation is inherently cross-boundary, and by bringing together government and industry from the U.S. and Southeast Asia, we will advance mutual aviation goals.

In support of the ACP, USTDA launched a call for aviation project proposals for funding from project sponsors in Southeast Asia or U.S. companies working with Southeast Asian project sponsors. In addition, USTDA will launch ACP with a series of six aviation workshops in Southeast Asia.

The ACP’s four government and 25 founding industry partners are: USTDA, DOT, FAA, TSA,  American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), AECOM, Aireon, Astrophysics, Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM), Bell, The Boeing Company, GE, GRA, Haskell, Honeywell, IAAC, IMSG, L3Harris, Leidos, Metron, MITRE, Oshkosh, Parsons, Polar Air Cargo, Rapiscan, Rossch Group, Sabre, Strategic Planning Services (SPS) and United Airlines.
