Matthew Ferraro came to the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce as its new chief executive officer on April 29, but he’s not a newcomer to the chamber business. He brings with him seven years of experience with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, where he most recently served as Vice President. The Katy resident is a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University where he majored in recreation, park and tourism management. He’s also a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management.
- You were with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce since you graduated from college. How did that experience help prepare you for your new position?
I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work for the only 5-Star Accredited Chamber in the Greater Houston Region. I’ve learned a tremendous amount from the Fort Bend Chamber and Keri Schmidt, who allowed me to take every opportunity for professional development.
