The Michigan Israel Business Accelerator has hired a new CEO who comes from a leadership position with the state.
Scott Hiipakka, 48, starts his new role May 28. He is charged with leading the nonprofit in its mission of facilitating business between businesses in Michigan and Israel, and spurring local investment.

Hiipakka was formerly executive director of the state’s office of performance and transformation. Under Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration, the department was reorganized and that position was eliminated.
